Mission Statement:
To offer Christ-centered life skills for female inmates in our County jail systems. To equip women who are re-entering society with a new sense of self-worth and purpose that will enable them to change their lifestyle permanently.

More about Lee Rust >>

This ministry began in 2001 as outreach to incarcerated women.  Many people do not realize the large numbers of women currently incarcerated in our county jail systems today.  The numbers are growing rapidly, largely in part due to increased drug and alcohol addictions.   They are hurting, angry and desperate women looking for a reason to go on.

After surveying them we have found here at Freedom Forever that they are almost all mothers with an average age of 33.  They are educated for the most part and hungry for answers to a way out of this vicious cycle of life they are in.  They are involved in drugs and have been abused or are now in abusive relationships.  Most have been arrested 5 or more times.  They have learned to use the system as an escape from their cycle of life.

By spending two hours per week with the female inmates we have been able to establish comfortable relationships and train them in God’s word. We begin with prayer and worship music. New students are provided with a new bible, folder and notebook paper. We then move to our lesson for the week, spending approximately 1 hour discussing the topic. We encourage participation and scripture memory. Last year alone we put more than 250 new bibles in the hands of these women.

We have developed a rewards program called “praise points”.  This system allows the inmates to receive as much as $5.00 per month for perfect attendance and memorizing scriptures each week.  Our lessons are centered on the problems many face each day.  Such as, fear, guilt and shame.  These topics are difficult but with God’s help we deliver them with love and gentleness.

It is the desire of this foundation to grow these women to a place that they can find happiness and joy in their life as women without dependency on drugs or others for that happiness.  They are women who need to be loved and shown the way.  God’s way.
